ASTA COLLINS
2 oz. / 60 ml. vodka
¼ oz. / 7.5 ml. Campari
1 oz. / 30 ml. fresh grapefruit juice
¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. fresh lime juice
¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. simple syrup
1 oz. / 30 ml. soda water to bottom
METHOD
add all ingredients except soda water to shaker tin / shake with ice until chilled / add soda water to Collins glass with ice / fine strain cocktail into glass / garnish with lime wheel
ABOUT
This cocktail was created by Toby Maloney, author of, “The Bartender’s Manifesto.” This was the first and only vodka drink on the opening menu at The Violet Hour (Chicago). He wanted the drink to be unexpected — pretty, pink, and bubbly, but with a bitter punch. Cheers y’all!
