Jamaican Wake Up

JAMAICAN WAKE UP

  • 1 oz. / 30 ml. aged Jamaican rum

  • ¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. overproof Jamaican rum

  • ¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. banana liqueur

  • ½ oz. / 15 ml. coffee liqueur

  • 1 oz. / 30 ml. espresso or cold brew concentrate

  • 1 dash chocolate bitters

  • 1 pinch salt

METHOD
add all ingredients to shaker tin / shake with ice until chilled / fine strain into coupe or Nick and Nora / garnish with three coffee beans (optional) – the picture shows a dusting of cinnamon which I did on a whim

Here’s an espresso martini recipe by Suzy (@spiritedshaker). When I saw Jamaican rum, I just had to reshake it. Banana liqueur brings the sweetness, which pairs well with the rum base. Chocolate bitters adds some complexity and salt makes everything POP. Cheers y’all!
