ABOUT
Welcome another classic cocktail: the Negroni. Is it good? Yes! Is it overrated? Also, yes. It is a classic equal parts drink, but I like mine best in a 4:3:3 ratio to let that gin shine. A London dry gin with prominent juniper is great here. Also, there are a number of red bitter liqueurs you can use beyond Campari - give them the time of day. Cheers y’all!
NEGRONI TIPS:
Gin: try a higher proof gin (especially if you are going the equal parts route). Juniper heavy is nice in a Negroni
Red bitter liqueur: Campari is the “classic” choice. Others to consider: Carpano Botanic Bitter, Luxardo Bitter, Strucchi Red Bitter
Sweet Vermouth: I like Carpano Antica, though I learned from a friend, Matthias Soberon, that using a blend of sweet vermouth never fails. Try mixing 2-3 vermouths together
