Sparkling Mai Tai

SPARKLING MAI TAI

  • ½ oz. / 15 ml. aged rum

  • ½ oz. / 15 ml. dry curaçao

  • ¼ oz. / 7.5 ml. dark overproof rum

  • ¼ oz. / 7.5 ml. fresh lime juice

  • ¼ oz. / 7.5 ml. orgeat

  • 4 oz. / 120 ml. sparkling wine, to top

METHOD
add all ingredients except sparkling wine to shaker tin / add ice and shake until chilled / strain into a champagne flute or coupe / top with sparkling wine / garnish with lime twist and fresh mint

ABOUT
Meet the Sparkling Mai Tai, a Martin Cate creation from Smuggler’s Cove (San Francisco, CA). Cate created it for Sunset magazine in 2011, and I had to reshake this one up for National Mai Tai Day. This one is a perfect effervescent drink for the patio. Cheers y’all!
