Tropic Thunder
TROPIC THUNDER
2 oz. / 60 ml. gin
½ oz. / 15 ml. Aperol
½ oz. / 15 ml. banana liqueur
1½ oz. / 45 ml. fresh orange juice
¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. fresh lemon juice
1 dash Angostura bitters
METHOD
add all ingredients to shaker tin / add a small amount of crushed ice and shake until chilled / dirty dump into glass / top with crushed or pebble ice / garnish with smoked cinnamon stick or grated cinnamon
ABOUT
This drink was created by Matthias Soberon. He described that this cocktail started out as a Bermuda Hundred (a gin Jungle Bird). You see the similarities here, but the addition of banana, Aperol, and orange make it stand out. This is definitely a lightning bolt of tropic flavors. Cheers y’all!
