VAQUERO AZUL
1½ oz. / 45 ml. tequila añejo
½ oz. / 15 ml. mezcal
½ oz. / 15 ml. crème de cacao
1 dash Angostura bitters
1 dash orange bitters
orange peel oil
METHOD
add all ingredients to mixing glass / stir with ice until chilled / strain into rocks glass over BFC / express orange peel over surface / garnish with orange twist

I recently saw Barlow Gilmore (@theweekendmixologist) post this Oaxaca Old Fashioned riff and I had to restir it. Here, Gilmore adds notes of chocolate with crème de cacao as the sweetener. Añejo tequila has been aged longer than the usual reposado used in a Oaxaca OF. Remember to express your oils! Cheers y’all!
