Amaretto Bitter

AMARETTO BITTER

  • 1½ oz. / 45 ml. amaretto

  • ¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. overproof Jamaican rum

  • ¼ oz. / 7.5 ml. Aperol

  • 1 oz. / 30 ml. fresh lemon juice

  • 1 tsp. rich simple syrup

  • 1 egg white or other foamer

METHOD
add all ingredients to shaker tin / shake without ice (“dry shake”) / add ice / shake until chilled / strain into coupe / no garnish (or amaretto cookie)

ABOUT
This cocktail was created by Leandro DiMonriva (@theeducatedbarfly). He was inspired by the Morgenthaler Amaretto Sour and the trend of adding a bitter Aperitivo to a sour. Here, he swaps out bourbon for Smith and Cross rum. This is one I’ll be reshaking again and again! Cheers y’all!
