GULF OF MEXICO

  • 2 oz. / 60 ml. tequila blanco

  • ½ oz. / 15 ml. Ancho Reyes Chile liqueur

  • 1 oz. / 30 ml. fresh lime juice

  • ½ oz. / 15 ml. pineapple syrup

  • blue spirulina powder, for color (or butterfly pea extract or food coloring)

  • Tajín rim

METHOD
add all ingredients to shaker tin / shake with ice until chilled / strain into a Tajín rimmed glass with fresh ice / garnish with lime wheel

ABOUT
I saw Adam Wild (@drinksbywild) post this yesterday for National Margarita Day and had to reshake it. Because some people want to rewrite history and geography, but no matter what they say, this is still the Gulf of Mexico…and this margarita slaps. Cheers y’all!
