Amaretto Sour

AMARETTO SOUR

  • 1½ oz. / 45 ml. amaretto

  • ¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. cask-strength bourbon

  • 1 oz. / 30 ml. fresh lemon juice

  • 1 tsp. rich simple syrup

  • fresh egg white or foamer of choice

METHOD
add all ingredients to shaker tin / shake without ice (“dry shake”) / add ice / shake until chilled / strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice / garnish with lemon twist and maraschino cherry

I’ll keep this one short and sweet. I’ve never liked amaretto sours until I tried Jeff Morgenthaler’s (@jeffmorgen) recipe. The healthy pour of lemon and high proof bourbon cut through the sweetness of the amaretto perfectly. If you’ve never made these specs, give it a go! Cheers y’all!
