Clear Espresso Martini

CLEAR ESPRESSO MARTINI

  • 2 oz. / 60 ml. coffee washed vodka

  • ¼ oz. / 7.5 ml. crème de cacao

  • ½ oz. / 15 ml. simple syrup

  • 4–5 dashes foamer

  • 1 dash saline solution

METHOD
add all ingredients to shaker tin / add ice and shake until chilled / strain into coupe or Nick and Nora / garnish with coffee beans

COFFEE OIL
100 g fresh ground coffee
200 g neutral oil
blend / let sit overnight in fridge / strain through a paper towel

COFFEE WASHED VODKA
2 oz. coffee oil
7 oz. vodka
sous vide for 2 hours at 120F, or let it sit for 24hrs at room temperature / freeze until oil is solid / strain it out in the freezer through coffee filter

This unique take on an espresso martini is inspired Kevin Kos (@kevin_kos). He learned a technique from Rich Woods to create coffee oil washed vodka. The appearance is reminiscent of the classic with the addition of a foamer. The chocolate pairs perfectly with the coffee. Cheers y’all!
