Daiquiwi

DAIQUIWI

  • 2 oz. / 60 ml. blended rum

  • ¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. fresh lime juice

  • ⅔ oz. / 20 ml. simple syrup

  • ½ fresh kiwi, diced

METHOD
add all ingredients to shaker tin / shake with ice until chilled / fine strain into coupe or Nick and Nora / no garnish

This daiquiri riff is by Matthias Soberon (@servedbysoberon). I can count on one hand how many drinks I’ve had with kiwi in it, and this needs to change! As Matthias says, the only downside here is a clogged strainer. You could make a kiwi syrup, but there’s something fun and tangy about muddled fruit. Give the hairy skinned fruit a chance.
