POET’S DREAM

• 2 oz. / 60 ml. dry gin

• ¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. dry vermouth

• ¼ oz. / 7.5 ml. Bénédictine

• 2 dashes orange bitters

• lemon peel oil

METHOD
add all ingredients to mixing glass / stir with ice until chilled / strain into coupe or Nick and Nora / garnish with lemon twist (optional)

ABOUT
Say hello to this wonderful martini variation that dates back to 1949, where it was featured in, “Esquire’s Handbook for Hosts.” This martini has notes of honey and herbs that come from the Bénédictine, but don’t worry, it’s not sweet! Express the lemon peel oils over the surface to brighten the cocktail on the nose. Cheers y’all!
