BOBCAT’S TAIL

  • 1½ oz. / 45 ml. rye whiskey

  • ½ oz. / 15 ml. allspice dram

  • ¼ oz. / 7.5 ml. smoky scotch

  • ¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. fresh lime juice

  • ½ oz. / 15 ml. maple syrup

  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters

METHOD
add all ingredients to shaker tin / add ice and shake until chilled / strain into coupe or Nick and Nora / garnish with lime twist (optional)

ABOUT
This is a riff on the 1937 classic Lion’s Tail cocktail. Frederic Yarm (@fredericyarm) came up with this variation when inspired by the maple syrup and allspice combination. The touch of smoke comes through nicely and is a nod to the process of preparing maple syrup. Cheers y’all!
