DERBY BOIS

  • 1½ oz. / 45 ml. bourbon (100-proof)

  • ½ oz. / 15 ml. Amaro Montenegro

  • ¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. fresh lime juice

  • ½ oz. / 15 ml. cinnamon syrup

  • Angostura bitters to float

METHOD
add all ingredients to shaker tin / add a small amount of crushed ice and shake until chilled / dirty dump into glass / top with crushed or pebble ice / float bitters / garnish with mint bouquet

ABOUT
This past weekend was the Kentucky Derby, so your cocktails were likely flooded with mint juleps (along with all of the margaritas for Cinco de Mayo). Here’s a cocktail by Jordan Hughes that is refreshing and a bit tropical. Who can say no to bourbon, amaro, and some freshly slapped mint? Cheers y’all!
