El Jefe

EL JEFE

  • 1½ oz. / 45 ml. tequila reposado

  • 1 oz. / 30 ml. coffee liqueur

  • 1 oz. / 30 ml. espresso

  • ½ oz. / 15 ml. agave syrup

  • coffee bean brûlée to garnish (optional)

METHOD
add all ingredients to shaker tin / add ice and shake until chilled / strain into coupe or Nick and Nora / garnish with coffee brûlée garnish or coffee beans

ABOUT
I have said this a bunch, but nothing makes an espresso martini better than swapping out vodka for a different spirit. I cannot pinpoint who created this variation, but the El Jefe (“The Boss”) is a must try. The specs follow a typical espresso martini and agave makes sense as the sweetener. Cheers y’all!
