Espresso Yourself

ESPRESSO YOURSELF

  • 2 oz. / 60 ml. cognac

  • 2 oz. / 60 ml. pineapple juice

  • ¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. fresh lime juice

  • ½ oz. / 15 ml. cinnamon syrup

  • 5 dashes Angostura bitters

  • ½ oz. / 15 ml. coffee liqueur, floated

METHOD
add all ingredients to shaker tin / add a small amount of crushed ice and shake until chilled / dirty dump into glass / top with crushed or pebble ice / drizzle coffee liqueur over top / garnish with mint bouquet and pineapple frond

ABOUT
This drink is by Matthias Soberon and was created for a Soundtrack My Drink challenge. He was given the song “Express Yourself” by N.W.A., from their 1988 album, “Straight Outta Compton.” As a nod to Dr. Dre and California, he uses cognac and tropical flavors. Cheers y’all!
