Ginga Punch

GINGA PUNCH

  • 2 oz. / 60 ml. gin

  • 2 oz. / 60 ml. Don’s Mix*

  • ½ oz. / 15 ml. fresh lemon juice

  • 2 dashes Peychaud’s bitters

METHOD
add all ingredients to shaker tin / add a small amount of crushed ice and shake until chilled / dirty dump into glass / top with crushed or pebble ice / garnish with mint bouquet after slapping it to express oils, dehydrated lemon wheel, and cinnamon stick

DON’S MIX
*2 parts grapefruit juice, 1 part cinnamon syrup

ABOUT
This cocktail is a twist on the famous Donga Punch (by Don The Beachcomber), which is rhum agricole based. This riff is by Matthias Soberon (@servedbysoberon), who subs in gin and lemon (instead of lime). The Peychaud’s is optional, but I love the aromatic and bitter notes (and color) it adds.
