Ginnocent Relief (or Placebo)

GINNOCENT RELIEF (OR PLACEBO)

  • 2 oz. / 60 ml. NA gin (I used Ginnocence, made in Washington State)

  • 2 oz. / 60 ml. pineapple juice

  • 1 oz. / 30 ml. fresh orange juice

  • 1 oz. / 30 ml. coconut cream

  • ½ oz. / 15 ml. fresh lime juice

  • nutmeg to garnish

METHOD
add all ingredients to shaker tin / shake with small amount of ice until ice melts (“whip shake”) OR flash blend / pour into a glass / top with crushed or pebble ice / float pineapple rum / garnish with mint bouquet after slapping to express oils and fresh nutmeg

ABOUT
Every so often my feed devolves to people complaining about the creativity and/or price of NA cocktails. I’m not sure if it is engagement bait or simply not understanding. Non-alcoholic cocktails take just as much care to craft as their boozy counterparts, and the ingredients—like quality syrups, fresh juices, or non-alcoholic spirits—can be just as pricey. The goal is to create a thoughtful, well-balanced drink, and that effort is reflected in the price. This is a simple riff on a classic Painkiller I created using a local non-alcoholic botanical gin (Ginnocence).
