River Styx
RIVER STYX
2 oz. / 60 ml. bourbon
¼ oz. / 7.5 ml. coffee liqueur
¼ oz. / 7.5 ml. crème de cacao
1 dash allspice dram
1 dash Angostura bitters
lemon peel oil
METHOD
add all ingredients to mixing glass / stir with ice until chilled / strain into a glass over a BFC / express lemon peel oil over the surface / garnish with a lemon twist
ABOUT
This is one of my favorite old fashioned riffs. This cocktail was created by David Kinsey for Kindred (San Diego, CA). The name derives from the Greek Goddess and river of the underworld. The dark flavors of chocolate and coffee work so well with the richness of bourbon and allspice. Cheers y’all!
