Tai Du Mai

TAI DU MAI (Cognac Mai Tai)

  • 1 oz. / 30 ml. cognac

  • ½ oz. / 15 ml. overproof Jamaican rum

  • ¼ oz. / 7.5 ml. dry curaçao

  • 1 oz. / 30 ml. fresh lime juice

  • ½ oz. / 15 ml. pineapple syrup

  • ¼ oz. / 7.5 ml. orgeat

  • mint bouquet to garnish

METHOD
add all ingredients to shaker tin / add a small amount of crushed ice and shake until chilled / dirty dump into glass / top with crushed or pebble ice / garnish with mint bouquet after slapping it to express oils

What better way to celebrate National Cognac Day than with a Cognac Mai Tai? This drink originates from Roquette (@roquettesea) in Seattle, where Erik Hakkinen took a Mai Tai to France by using French Brandy (Cognac) to balance overproof Jamaican rum. Cheers y’all!
