TROUBLE & DESIRE

  • 2 oz. / 60 ml. aged rum (Guyana)

  • ¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. sweet vermouth

  • ½ oz. / 15 ml. Jamaican rum

  • ½ oz. / 15 ml. Licor 43

  • orange peel oil

METHOD
add all ingredients to mixing glass / stir with ice until chilled / strain into a glass over a BFC / express orange peel oil over surface / garnish with orange twist

ABOUT
This drink was created by Michael Yusko for Cure (New Orleans, LA). Yusko aimed to make use of a neglected bottle of Licor 43, a citrus and vanilla-flavored liqueur popular in Spain, by incorporating it into a rum-based Manhattan variation. He named this after a quote from the 1992 Hal Hartley film Simple Men. Cheers y’all!
