YOU’D BETTER SECOND LINE

  • 1½ oz. / 45 ml. bourbon

  • ½ oz. / 15 ml. Islay scotch

  • ¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. fresh lemon juice

  • ¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. orgeat

  • ¾ oz. / 22.5 ml. passionfruit syrup

  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters

  • 2 dashes Peychaud’s bitters

METHOD
add all ingredients to shaker tin / add a small amount of crushed ice and whip shake / dump into glass / top with crushed or pebble ice / garnish with expressed lemon peel oil and mint (original calls for orchid flower)
*Original was served up, but I thought crushed ice would work well here

ABOUT
This cocktail is by Brian Maxwell (@shakerofspirits). It is a tribute to New Orleans, to the rhythms that stay with you long after you’ve left, and to the places that change you, whether you’re ready or not. It is a lovely whiskey-based tiki drink! Cheers y’all!
